The Medical School Admission Test (MCAT) is a standardized, multiple-choice examination developed and administered by the AAMC. The current MCAT consists of four distinct sections that are individually scored. Each section is allotted either 90 or 95 minutes and tests between 50 and 60 questions.
In 2023, the average MCAT score submitted by first-year enrolled students is 512. New York University School of Medicine has the highest MCAT score of 523. Columbia University Roy and Diana Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons and Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine follow it with 522 and 521 respectively.
