In the academic year 2024-2025, total 22,780 first year students have enrolled in medical schools. It is -200 less students than last year, an decrease of -0.87%.

Of the 22,780 first year medical students, 14,110 students enrolled in public and 8,670 enrolled in private medical schools.
By gender, there are 10,115 men (44.40%) and 12,525 women (54.98%) first year students.
By residency status, 13,725 students (60.25%) were from the state that the school is located in, and 9,056 students (39.75%) were from other state or abroad.
